We love building wheels. As a team, we have built over 10,000 wheels. Wow, that is a big number :) We have a Phil Wood spoke cutter that has been with us since 2005, and it is still going strong 300,000 cut and threads later.

We keep stock of Sapim blank spokes, and cut them to length for each wheel. We usually have stock of Strong, Leader, Race and sometimes Laser spokes, so we can select the right spoke for your wheel.

Want to some extra fun with BERD spokes? We can help you there too. Our team has experience building BERD wheels with j-bend, straight-pull and hook flange hubs.

We use Sapim Polyax nipples, because they are the best. Brass, Alloy, DoubleSquare, fun colours, we have it all.

Spoke thread preparation is a very important step of the build, and we take it seriously. There are a few methods we use depending on the wheel and use case.

After all of that, it is finally time to put the wheel together! We take our time and bring the wheel up to tension evenly, listening to the wheel as we go, and adjusting as needed. At the end you'll have a super wheel that is built correctly, and ready to take you wherever you need to go.

If we have to take apart an old wheel to re-use parts, we have to charge more labour. Makes sense right?

BERD Wheelbuild - starts at $175

Price will depend on the hub type, with Hook flanges being the best price/labour option. J-Bend hubs require a time intensive preparation and lacing procedure, and the labour price will reflect that. As with any of our wheelbuilds, you'll end up with a super wheel!
